Meet the Author

Joey lives with his "mom", Luanne Blick, an elementary school teacher from Dennison, Ohio.  Luanne shared Joey's story with her students to encourage them to talk about their feelings. They had such a good time, she felt other children would enjoy Joey, too.

Joey's friend, Jacks (pictured in the book on pages 2 & 11) a golden retriever, got very sick and passed away a week before last Christmas.  It was a hard time for the whole family.

Joey and his family have recently become members of the Midwest Boston Terrier Rescue* organization and are currently fostering a puppy named Rascal. His new baby sister, Gabby came to live with them in April. Stories about Joey, Gabby, and Rascal should be coming in the near future.
