Do You Ever Feel Like Joey? by Luanne Blick

Whether a precocious six-year-old "doing it all by himself", or a meek two-year-old being read stories on Grandpa's lap, all children need assurance -- assurance that it is okay to feel silly, lonely happy embarrassed, sad, or shy.

The wording in Do You Ever Feel Like Joey? is appropriate for children from the read-to age up through beginning readers. The overall feel of the book is inspirational, positive, and empowering. But, mostly, the pictures of Joey are sure to win your heart!

As an elementary school teacher at Conotton Valley, I shared Joey's story with my students to encourage them to talk about their feelings. They had such a good time, I felt other children would enjoy Joey, too.

Joey lives with me, my husband, Bob, our son Rob, and Joey's little sister, Gabby. We recently fostered a 6-month-old Boston terrier named Rascal. Rascal had been considered "unsellable" and taken to the pound. Fortunately, the Midwest Boston Terrier Rescue Organization (MWBTR) had connections at the pound and were contacted. Rascal is one of the lucky ones who was adopted into a loving home in Columbus, Ohio.

Joey has requested a percentage of the sales from his book go to the MWBTR. For information on how you can purchase the book and help Midwest Boston Terrier Rescue at the same time, click here. More books about Joey, Gabby, and their foster siblings will be coming soon!
